I usually capitalize the first letter of the keywords just so they slightly stand out.
    eg a homepage title:
Compare a Car - Compare Cars and read the latest Car News

If you're just talking about SEO, capitalization has no direct influence. You're probably not going to rank differently just because of caps or no caps on most search engines.

However, like everyone has pointed out, you want to improve your clickthru rates and such and make it look more professional. If more people visit your site, you have a better chance of gaining more natural backlinks in the longrun.

I don't know whether using capitalized sentences will be punished by Google or not, but the search queries are non-case-sensitive, so if you write "MY KEYWORDS", you will get the same SERP when writing "my keywords" :)

robots do not know the difference between caps and non-caps. But, the only reason why people might find it useful is that it is probably more noticable when searching. I think it looks unprofessional though and I probably would stay away from websites that use that format on their titles when I am searching for something.

Use only the first letter of each word as "caps". If the whole keyword or phase is in "caps" search engines will find it as "To Much Hype" and you may not get the best SEO. I got this advice from my mentor last year and it has helped me increase my # of clicks tremendous. Search engines do not like hype.

Well, it shouldn't be "Optimization" if the guys British. The English spelling of this word is "Optimisation"!

In blog page titles I would always use capitals for the start of each word excluding the words - "a, an, the, to, from, and & with"! This style is used in movie titles, song titles etc. Have tried lower case across the majority of titles, but it looks crappy in the SERPS. I think catchy headlines can help to lure in visitors.:D
