Using Breaking News to Drive big traffic fast

As you will all see yesterday and today I have been writing articles about Digg and all the crisis going on there , why ? I care about the cause 100% but also latest news means big traffic for you.

How does it mean big traffic for you? Well yesterday I noticed that Digg was in big trouble and users were boycotting anything to do with digg and jumping on band wagon of anyone’s articles revolting againist Digg, So I got about writing articles about how Digg is bad etc, and posts about Digg alternatives .

Then I went about Digging them because I knew that it would be something people would like. You to can do the same thing just have to look for news around sites and things that you know people care about and would want to hear about ! So what are you waiting for is heaps of news breaking right now!

How are you to find these breaking news though? Yes, it works, but finding the content is hard BECAUSE major news sites (such as CNN) will have it published before your site.. and will probably be dug way more (since it's a reliable site) than our sites..

the only breaking news we can do just your local breaking news which CNN wont publish. :p It sound like a great idea to use breaking news but it's hard to get the news like 8everything said.

It really isn't that hard to get the news if you do a search around on the net you can even use bizarre news with pictures that can also bring in traffic

The Digg story was good for short term traffic but many of those diggers won't stick around long enough to check out the rest of your site unless you have something that immediately grabs them. That's hard to do.

I think this strategy works for short term solutions but it could be really hard to base a longterm approach on.

I'm going to try it out. I always thought of doing it but never came to it. I think we don't have to write just the breaking news but use it to lead to something else. In other words, write a story from another angle.
