Using blogs to promote your site - host it or use blogspot?

    Lets say you ran a car dealership website and part of that site was your blog. Would it be better to host the blog on your site or use a site like blogspot. I am asking in terms of marketing/traffic and seo. Not whats easier.

    you can use blogspot to get listed in SE very fast
