Ok Is this possible? Lets say my niche is Chocolate Cat Food. To get to #2, I'd had to get 500 inbound links. But #7 and #8 on the first page only have 5-20 inbound links. So -- I want to create another entrance to my site. So i go to wordpress, and create two blogs under different accounts. Both are content rich with Chocoltae Cat Food articles. They both have chocolate cat food in the titles. They also both have hyperlinks to my site. I go to Digital Point and get inbound links via directory submissions to point at these blogs. I get about 500 submissions each. Soon, wont these blogs RANK and be on the same page as my top ranking main site? So I could have three entrances to my site on the top ten? Could this work?
It's possible, but there are many factors in play, the keyword density, the age of the sites/blogs, number of posts and pages, age of back links, regularity of site updates, I am doing it in several niches and dominating the front pages for my blogs, sites and then even the diggs and spammy campaigns. Given that each blog of yours was equal - then yes it's do-able.
Yeah its possible, but you need to do it gradually so you dont get sandboxed Try to increase the inlinks at less then 100 a day
wow nice topic here.. this is great since I am busy starting the same thing too. So in fact beside the targeting keywords in the title and having a content rich site, the main important thing to beat other competitors in the SERPs are the inlinks(backlinks)?
You can do this, and with my grey hat on, I must admit the idea of three top ten listings is tempting...but as a user of search engines more than an optimizer of them, I have to say that this technique is a pet peeve of mine. Nothing wrong with getting your backlinks up, but I get very frustrated when I see the SERPs dominated by one entity in many similar forms. It wastes my time and limits my choices. Every good site deserves a chance, but if you really do try to place three sites in the top ten, at least divide them by function and offer some different features on each. Everyone has their own idea of webspam, to me it's duplicate content. I'd rather see you develop a family of related sites, on topics such as pets, or gifts and romance (both have a chocolate tie-in) and get your links by anchors in original articles. But do be creative. Of course, I think this method is probably not that likely to succeed in the form you put forth. 1. free wordpress blogs won't get listed in many directorys 2. which are basically sub-par links to begin with and not necessarily any great help in the rankings 3. If the content is duplicate, there are filters to stop you and a manual spam team that might even punish your main site if you have an unnatural presence in a niche. Your competitor may file a spam report if you are too annoying about dominating the niche; after all, that's who will be most hurt by this. Good luck!
Try picking up on some backlinks. Here's a thread that I created, and maybe it'll help you out. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=11275079#post11275079 lalamaple
