Hi, Is there a reason why I shouldm't use the BCC facility in my compose email to send a mass seasonal update? Let me know soon as I intend to send it early next week.
Personally I would sign up for an aWeber autoresponder account. It will help you manage your list as it grows and being double optin will help you comply with the spam regulations.
I use a mailer called "Group Mail" and all of my list members get personalized emails "just for them" even though I'm sending the same information to all members. Since I've been using this for well over 4-years, I've yet to have any problems. Pete
I agree with the aweber recommendation. Aside from being able to dynamically insert personalization fields, the lead organization tool is great too. It keeps all of your leads for you so you never have to worry about them being lost. If you just send a few emails a quarter to one list, there's no big reason to make the aweber investment, but if you manage several lists, it is a good idea You're probably fine with blind Bcc: Just make sure not to accidently Cc: That would be a disaster!
Here's one I have used in the past... http://www.cicoandcico.com/products.php?option=ccmail ...free and simple.
You definately don't want to use the BCC field. Do a google search and you'll easily find out all the details on why. You want to use a system that will get your emails delivered (not blocked by spam filters). It's much more difficult than one might suspect. I don't recommend aweber as they are going to send an email to your existing list asking them to confirm that they really want to be on your mailing list. You'll probably lose a good percentage of your subscribers this way.
Any competitor of aweber avoid this step? This new confirmation can damage a lot your current list indeed
