Using bandwisth at an alarming rate

It's only 3rd May and already five per cent of my bandwidth has been used. I pay quite a lot for it so I'm a bit worried that within the next week or so I'm going to have to pay for a lot more. The vast majority of traffic has been to one website. I've been going through the stats as I haven't had any more visitors than usual and I found that one IP address was in Moscow and that people with this IP had used the majority of the bandwidth. Would you ban the IP?

yes i would ban the IP, not like they are going to buy things from you ;)

could be a bad search engine script or something like that ? I have about 2000 ip's and ranges banned, otherwise i would be way over bandwidth each month.

The worst offender used well over a gig of bandwidth last month. I think they just want to spam the forum and guestbook.

ya you should ban that IP if its traffic is of no use for you and your website..Also you can reduce your bandwidth usage by blocking some spammy bots by robots.txt of your website...:)
