I was just wondering if I can copy-paste some articles from other sites to a site I'm starting, but include the source, with a link and everything at the beginning or end of the article, just like some newspapers do. I know I might face google dupe problems, but, is it a bad thing/illegal to do to the source of that certain article?
You can only do this with articles that have been posted on article directories, such as Ezine Articles, where the author has already granted permission for others to re-publish them. If you do this with any other content it is considered to be theft and is actually illegal. I would highly recommend that you write original content for your sites to avoid the problems associated with duplicate content, but that is up to you.
Okay great thanks for telling me that. One more thing: Can I write a small summary (with my own words) of the article or something that gets the reader wanting to know more, and then give them the link to the source? Just like they do on the social news sharing sites? I know obvious question, (because they're doing it, so I probably can), but I just want to make sure.
No problem at all. Just in case you havent seen it you can find some pretty good articles at Ezine Articles http://www.ezinearticles.com As long as you include the original authors resource info and links you can use whatever you want to. They tend to have better quality stuff than most of the other directories
yes i agree that ezine is the best source for article and submit the article. if ou wrote your own article you can make another version to submit to ezine to get more traffic.
