Using Article-Rich Blog as Second Entrance to Site??

Would it be wise to set up a blog and place articles on it, and at the end of each article have "click here to order" or -- better yet -- anchor text that would lead to my site?

That way the blog would get ranked in the engines and also help me dominate the top ten?

Also I'd do link building for the blog.

Wise?

submit your articles with your link to already established articles directory . i guess that would be better than doing link building to your new blog with articles.

 

The blog will work if you have unique content. Get links to your blog and to your other sites.

 

But lets say I had a site ranking #1 for cat food. (ok lets pretend Cat Food is a very small niche)

And then I created blogs focused around cat food, but had them link to my main site.

Could I then dominate the top 10 with many cat-food related blogs and dominate the first page???

 

I'm asking myself the same question. My main site is a directory with sites reviews. I thought about giving it some visibility by setting up an automated blog rss-fed from it with say the first third of each review with a link to the main site. Does it worth it, or will it be seen as duplicate content?
