Using AND in the domain name

I'm looking for new domain names in a competitive market and wondering what effect the keyword "AND" would have in a domain name.

I know Google etc will automatically "AND" terms in a search query and the keyword "AND" used without speech-marks is ignored in a query.

I don't want to be found by the keyword "AND". There are many sites that benefit from this keyword but examples like Dolce & Gabana leave the "AND" part out of their domain name.

My question is whether using "AND" such as www.term1-and-term2.com is a good practise in SEO terms or if it causes a handicap by bringing in a useless keyword ("AND").

    Thanks,

    AR

I don't think it would do much.
better if you just had the two terms.

I don't think using "and" will give you any advantage.
Just stay with the two terms.

I would not use it. Better off using the 2 terms alone with out it.

it can also depend on how your keyword is used....I would use arts and crafts .com over arts crafts .com

i dont think that using "and" is a good idea. if you have an option without "and" , you must choose it

The only way I would and is if you want a certain domain name and the only way to get it is to use the word and. This can be a great tactic from a google stand point since google does not regonize the word and as a word they would over look that and give credit to the main terms in the domain.

But for the most part I would only with the two words.

Hence the reason I raise it - can you use AND to your advantage in a domain name. I will try it and see (check back for results in 6-8months lol).
