    Hello,

My personal travel site has about 300 domains linking to it and quite a lot of trafic.

I am planning on starting a new commercial travel website.

If I tranfer my personal website to a new URL and use the old, well linked URL, for my commercial web site, will it benefit from the links?

Or are the old links going to be ignored by Google besause the website content has changed ?

    Could someone please help me?

    Sylvain

Back-links will be pointing to URL so, changing site will not make Google to ignore those links. most of the people prefer old domains only because of the back-linking factor. if a site has some good number of back-links than you will have to work less on it to get it ranked or to boost its PR. we all know the importance of back-links and so do Google.

I switched a proxy site to an adult video site and didn't lose it's PR3 and link juice. That was in 2008 but it should still work the same I think.
