Using an LCD tv as a computer monitor?

What is the downside to using a 32" LCD tv as a monitor as long as it has VGA output?

    I've seen 32" LCD TV's for $600 while a 30" monitor is $2000.

    Any ideas?

The monitor has a much higher resolution because it's designed to be view from a smaller distance. I haven't tried it out yet, but I imagine the TV would be blurry.
