Using alexa rating as a sales point for ads

Since June '07, my local stats program and also G.Analytics show slow but steady growth in traffic. This is the busy season for my niche, so the last month has seen a nice surge in both traffic and sales.

However, alexa shows a steady decline (-8%) in traffic over the last 6 months.

I am considering selling advertising to relevant/related businesses. Initial feedback from some potential clients have pointed to the alexa rating even though I can show screenshots from G.Analytics and my local stats.

Alexa may be inaccurate, but it seems like there are still some who look at it for relevance. Is there a way to fix alexa, or should I just try to avoid/discredit it when offering info to potential advertisers?

Stick the Alexa Widget on your site, that way anybody who visits, it gets recorded to Alexa.

Install Alexa on all the computers of your office/home, and put your website as the homepage :)
