Using adwords to drive adsense profit

I'm curious if it's common practice for people to advertise via adwords to bring traffic to your site, with adsense ads...

What are the steps involved in making sure you make more from adsense than what you pay in adwords?

It used to be common practice, it's not anymore, it's frowned upon by Google.

 

It's called arbitrage so if you look up that term in relation to adwords/adsense, you will find tons of information.

But like the previous poster said, it is not as popular anymore as many sites were banned from earning on adsense.

 

Thanks guys! I wasn't thinking of sites setup purely for this purpose. I'm running a reviews website with lots of content, and some adsense ads. I'm wondering if it's worth running some adwords ads to drive more traffic to the review site, and if the money spent is likely to be more or less than the money made from adsense...

 

Thats all up to your ad placement, you can waste 60$ or you can gain 60$!

 

Does Google frown on using Yahoo to drive Adsense clicks?

 

I still think natural traffic is better (search engine for me)

Why don't you use adwords for affiliate referrals. That's where you can make the money, not 10 cents per click, but 100 dollars per sale

 

I think adsense arbitrage is banned now by google.

 

you can use adwords but the landing page must not have adsense

 

Best avoided if you can.

 

I suggest you try affiliates. Much better returns than adsense.
