Using Adwords PPC, can we expect that link ad to be a backlink?

I also hear it could affect rankings in the SERP. What do you think?

That's what I thought. But it seems there are people who claim that, saying because of Adwords. I tend to think using Adwords can be a way to being indexed faster though. How about it?

no adwords will do nothing for you SEO wise

It will not index, it will not rank, it will not backlink

i agree with everyone that an adwords link will have no credible SEO value. However, since most adworders do the search network (not just google but their partners as well), the hosting portal page may be cached by google with your link on it, so it could provide Search Engines with knowledge of your site, and they may index it or even pass along a slight value. But this most likely is temporary and the effect is more of a bonus than something to shoot for.

For example I ran an ad that was shown on a lot of smaller portal sites and when i searched my domain, my site was listed instantly (a fresh new site without any seo) and the results were from the cached results of the portal sites. i was able to test this because i just bought the domain, threw some quick content, and ppced it the same day, literally. after i shut off the ads (a week later), the site and its footprints were indexed. i dont think this is something effective or something to really be of concern, when it comes to actually seoing a site.

I would shoot for visitor retention and build traffic that way through ppc, rather than look at its SEO effects

The link provided by google to those search partners is a redirect, which if I am correct the redirect also include a no follow so that no PPC link is ever followed through to an advertisers site

I noticed that google is showing the adwords back link before when you search the links in your site. But now restricted it once they received a complain from google adwords customer seeing their text ad in poor and disturbing site.
