Using AdSense successfully on forums

Does anyone successfully make a decent amount of cash from running AdSense on forums.

I have this on www.planetfootie.co.uk and it is currently getting a very low CTR and earnings. Can anyone suggest how to improve this please?

I make roughly $10 a day from my forum.

 

I do alright with one of my forums, I get around $7 - $10 a day, and that is with around 12,000 - 15,000 impression and a terrible CTR as well. Forums aren't big earners.

 

How much is your current Football forum making ?

I find link ads work better on forums.....

 

ime top right 468*60 performs well on forums.

In fact things picked up a little after I made some SEO changes to the templates as recommend in this forum.

 

Only a couple of dollars a day through AdSense at the moment

 

I did try that before the current layout but the CTR was still poor, I think forum users generally just get used to checking the posts and ignoring the ad's.
