Using A Web-Layout For Multiple Sites

I have had a web-designer create me a website layout. However, I was wondering if I was to use this same layout on many, many different websites. Would it hurt SEO, and ranking, etc.

Each website would use the same layout, with new images, banners, colour schemes etc. So each would be customized to have new colours etc to match the subject the website is about. Also the content will be 100% unique to each website.

However before I build the websites, I am unsure weather if it would damage my websites ranking in search engines, and also would it damage earning revenue with such companies like AdSense etc..

Also does completely changing the website layout, after months of SEO and Link Building etc cause any damage to ranking and other properties. (As once each website is developed and getting good traffic, I would like to have a unique layout made for each one.)

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I was unsure where to post this, but I decided here might be best as SEO and the Rankings are the most important issue to me.

    Thanks in Advance.

Depending on how many websites will have the exame design, it can lower your ranking. I'm not sure if changing the colors will help, but probably the basic html code will be the same and I think that is counting for seo.

I COMPLETELY changed our website design and it had no impact on our SERPS.

If you have the same design for different sites, then make sure that each website uses unique folder/page names and that image names are different and relevant to the site (eg bakery-breadroll.jpg rahter than image123.jpg)

Having the same layout won't have any seo implications - it's the content that matters, as long as that's dfferent you've got no problem .
Changing the layout after the site has been up for a while mayhvae some implications if it involves changing urls - but that can be overcome with 301 redirects.

Design has no bearing on SERPs....

How many wordpress blogs are there using the same design ranking well for 100,000s of keywords????

Sem-Advance is right. the layout wont affect seo, but google will definitely know that all the sites belong to u. not sure if it matters to u or not.

I don't mind Google knowing the websites are mine. :) Why would I?
