Hi there, I am new, and I know that any advice here is just advice of course. oops sent submit early.... My question is: If someone has a sub-domain from a post2host type of company, do they forgo any (no matter how small) rights to the content of the site? Is there any concern about monies earned? (they state I am allowed to earn money with ads..so this isn't an issue.) Company is ***.com they offered to me a sub-domain to use on a domain they lease. They explained very well, what I can expect as to rules and regulations regarding my usage of the space, what I am allowed to offer in content and what I am not. I have read all the ToS' for the company. The ToS states that any forum postings and any emails sent to and from them that is not already copyrighted, is now their intellectual property. I understand what that means and I have no issue with that. Nothing is stated concerning usage of sub-domains and my own content rights. I am guessing and others have said as well, I own the content...period, exclamation point. Is there any hidden or "not really noticable" rule or regulation concerning property content rights in regards to a sub-domain?
nobody can own your content without your written permission. if you are tricked into such a contract with knowledge, it is not valid
What sort of convoluted arrangement is this? Spend the $8 and get your own domain and be done with it. If it's not worth $8 then it's definitely not worth your time worrying about it.
