Using a satellite site for linking

    Hi ,
I have a 6 month old - thousand page travel guide with all original content on it Every page links to 10 internal category pages , which I plan to put my product links through to my main travel site. Now its all been indexed all nicely. Ive put it on a seperate web host with protected DNS info. So this is a kind of 'becoming your own affilliate' ploy. How is it best to link in to the main site, should I use a link with a redirect or just straight in, or is this a really bad idea.
Also site-wide links definetley hurt you in google, but they are a good way of getting weight into a site. Is it possible to do sitewides into the travel guide site with the purpose of just passing on the pr into the main site, as I really dont care wether the travel guide site gets any traffic or not.
    Thanks!

Sitewides will only hurt you if you're only doing sitewides...and no other form of incoming links.

If your satellite site is on its on C class ip address (even if it isn't, it's just one site) then go ahead and just link the site up with a normal HTML static link.
