Using a cloned script and make it famous?

Is it legal to use a cloned script of (example: twitter) and reedit it to my own likings and then make it big and maybe become the next famous site?

Will it be legal? Or I will get lawsuits from twitter or host will take me down? ;)

Please give some reasonable replies and do not flame/spam on my topic.

    Thanks in advance.

It'll be fine. Twitter doesn't own the idea of microblogging. A site using a clone script won't get very big, though. Write your own.

Yeah, but I see most sites are using the microblogging idea, and features-wise are pretty much the same like twitter. Not much extra. And I suppose, it'd be easier and faster if I'd use a cloned script and edit it to my own theme, slight small feature. Than having the time to start from scratch which takes time and lots and lots of trial and error. But definitely the looks and all will be unique. :)

lol, thanks for the luck. Yeah I'll definitely work SEO-wise, however, I just hope later IF I'd ever get big, I don't get any lawsuits from twitter or anything for having the same microblogging thing, and a same concept.
