I was reading through some information on CJ, and they are very specific about what you can and can't do. They specified not to promote products on blogs, but what I think they meant was don't post links to products in comment fields. Is it cool with them to promote products on just your own blog, or is that a bad way to go period?
I don't see why they'd care if you used your own blog. It should only mean spamming blogs, but CJ is a ban happy network. Good luck.
I'm sure that they meant not to promote products in comments or whatever. I've been with CJ for 4 years+ and promoted their products on my blogs the entire time. In addition, there are many services such as datafeedr (read my blog www.jtpratt.com) that have their entire business based around placing CJ products in blogs.
Yes, they mean not to spam other peoples blogs with your links. I have two or three blogs with cj products on them. So far the cj products don't do much for converting on my blogs even though they get tons of clicks. I haven't written any articles about them though, they're just 125x125 ads. Writing articles about a products helps a lot. I wrote a top 9 Gordon Ramsay cookbook summary on one of my blogs and sold 7 cookbooks on amazon the same day it published! I was going to link you to the article, but apparently I still can't post live links. I would type the address out for you, but I'm not sure if that would offend anyone. Oh well.
Although some advertisers do have their specific terms and conditions for publishers. But i haven't came across anyone which says not to promote products using blogs, I mean really blogs, websites are one of the top methods of promoting products.
I am just learning about the CJ. Can someone tell me if I write an article on a product, how would I promote it that way. Would I put a link to a blog or what?
you could... make a blog that is just for the product and then post the aff link on the blog. every time you write an article also post it to your blog, and at the end of the article link back to the blog so visitors can read your other posts and learn more about the product... and hopefully click thru to buy it! its that simple... or sounds it lol
longblog is right. i have about 5 blogs that promoting CJ product & service... and the same problem too, many click but didn't convert. i just need more do SEO and may be buying some targeted traffic.
