Using 301 Redirect to hide backlinks?

I have a competetor that is more or less watchign my every move and trying to copy how i build backlinks

so i was wondering if I get another domain and link build through it, would that be a good strategy to hide my link building activities from them?

 

does anybody know?

 

It's not clear, where do you wanna use R301?

 

like a 3 way from the new domain u mean?

 

you mean increasing your exposure by having 2 sites, that will take a long time to get good ranking

i meant I'd buy another domain and 301 redirect it to my main domain, and link build by linking that domain
that way when somebody searches for back links to my main domain they wont find any

You could have links point to yoursite.com rather then www.yoursite.com then 301 redirect yoursite.com to www.yoursite.com. I have not tried doing this with building backlinks so not sure if it will work or not.
