user registration profile page- possible to add more custom fields

hi,

A question about wordpress.

i was wondering if there was a way to add more custom fields in the users profile page in the wordpress admin area.? I want to have more info in the author profile page when it displays.

I also want to make some or all of these new custom fields, required fields. As where the user cannot go any further without entering there info into new fields.


Would appreciate any help in this matter.

Yes, use these two plugins:

Role-manager
wp-user-manager

have you tried cimy-extra user fields plugin,
by using this plugin, you can put those extra fields in the author profile template.

i tried that register plus for wp and it does not work for wp 2.7


any ideas..? basically i want to be able to force users to have to enter required fields i choose...
