i want to make my blog private so only poele that i give username and password to can see the content. These poele can only see the content , not edit it. And the only person who can edit teh blog and all that other stuff is me. Is there a way to do this. Is there a widget for something like this? like i want it so like on the main page it has some content and to see the rest of teh content you have to login or something and then when you login you see everything. is there a way to do this?

You can make post private and then only people with a username and password can login and see the content... the content u want public make it that way and then make all the other stuff private. That should accomplish what u want to.
you can make password protected by apache your full domain, you can try this pluggin: www . askapache . com / wordpress / htaccess-password-protect.html (remove spaces)
If you trust the visitors (if they are family), then what about simply creating 1 user, and give that user login info to the people. You would have to stop any new users from registering though, which I'm not 100% about how to do. Joel
