User CP (Google AdSense Client ID Option)

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums and I hope I'm posting this question in the correct area?

I noticed in the User CP that there is an option to use your Google AdSense Client ID. Is this ok with Google and has anyone had any success with it?

This is a revenue sharing forum. You can place your Adsense code there and after a certain number of posts start earning revenue if you code comes up and someone clicks on the ad showing your id.

Now don't start spending your earnings to be just yet. Revenue will be small.

Hehe, I don't think I'll even use the facility. Interesting though.

Don't worry, it's not against TOS. Post your ID now and start earning more.

Maybe in the future. Have you seen an increase in earnings?

    Earnings are small.

Do we risk clicking on our own ads in the forum?

Site is programmed so you ads will not show while you are logged in.

Not worth bothering then. I don't want to end up clicking my own ad, to risky.

Oh, well thats a different story then. I must say its now become tempting :p

I personally think the revenue sharing model is an interesting concept, but I keep wondering how many DP'ers take time out of reading the posts here to click on ads. My feeling is that the majority of DP'ers are here to share tips on site and search optimization and sort of have "tunnel vision" when it comes to looking at ads. Your take?

I would guess most clicks come from non-registered users that come into the site from organic search results (about 56% of all traffic from the forum is JUST from Google searches). So if you take repeat visitors (registered users coming back, direct entry, etc.) plus all other search engines combined, it's less traffic than google.com searches.

It's not an "option". Ads will show under whatever post you are looking at.

It doesn't show under yours because you are not looking at your post.
