Hey guys, I operate an addiction treatment facility and I am also an SEM. I have ranked for pretty much every single term that has a lot of daily search volume and the conversions really weren't there. So, I altered my strategy and I found some keywords that don't get that much traffic but convert almost 50% of the time. Anyway, it lead me to ask the question.... If you were an alcoholic or drug addict and you were going to go to a treatment center (a.k.a. a rehab) ...assuming you were searching on an engine, what would you type to find it? Would it be a process of narrowing it down froma broad search or a local search first step? I really am curious to know how you guys would approach it. Recap: You are a drug addict or an alcoholic looking for help.... you go to Google and type in....what? Any help would be appreciated. I will publish everything I find as well and hopefully anyone can use the data by applying it to their niche.
Thank god I never had to do such a research before but the first phrase I would possibly use is: "alcohol rehab center (my zip code or city/state)" I would also try "alcohol rehab center reviews (city/state)". I hope that helps.
I would also think more basic terminology....ie get drug/alcohol rehab/treatment. Also people would probably often include the specific drug they are addicted to. Just watch a bunch of episodes of Dog the Bounty Hunter & Intervention...good keywords on there
The truth is this...I ranked up until recently for a whole slew of great traffic KW's...but the conversions werent there.... now I rank for some keywords that get 10-50 searchs a month and I am getting nearly 50% conversions from those keywords....its ridiculous....this whole time I am going after "alcohol rehab" and "drug and alcohol rehab"....I got to top 3 for 1 year for drug and alcohol rehab and top 10 for alcohol rehab and didnt get nerarly as much business as these measly 50 searchs a month are bringing me....lol....thanks for all the input, I appreciate it.
