Hello, I've had a terrible 4 weeks. Broadband broke. Telephone crackles. Hardware not arrived. I'd like to be more specific about the big companies who do this - cause me to waste countless hours on dial up connection, lose money and then try to sell me more Can I name them here? Would anyone else like to take this opportunity to dish the dirt on massive companies who couldn't run an event at a brewery? Feel free if you do. I feel better already.
My Broadband went down 5 weeks ago. After all sorts of hassle, finally yesterday they said there was a fault with my BT external line and they would fix it 24-48 hours. What I most detest is they try and upsell additional services despite the lack of service they've shown me. I wish I hadb't started this thread now because nobody else seems to have problems. Yeah sure! It is bad to keep these things bottled up - go on spill!
Where I live, broadband isn't available. NO modern internet is available where I live. No DSL, No T1, No wireless. Dial-up is the only option, and I have to maintain a long-distance phone line to access the exchange. Costs about $70/month for dial-up internet-and I live in the USA, near two of the most famous highways in the country. Not only that, but you can't get voice mail or call-forward busy here, so we just had to start a second line to accept phone calls. So there you go. Things are rough all over.
I started another thread somewhere - to find out where you can live (if your business depends on internet) - where are you sp O can cross it off? I got broadband back today - the pronlem was what I detected 5 weeks ago and I blame BT. When I have time I'm going after AOL and BT for refunds and I'll no doubt moan about them here if they don't pay up. Still, I suppose I should count my blessings - life is so frustrating with dial up when you're used to broadband. So many times over the last 5 weeks I've been near to throwing my computer out of the window. Please feel free to add more moans about big companies here:
