Useing logo what looks like YouTube Logo?

Hello,

Yesterday I was working on a new logo for my Article Directory and finally I made something what more looks like YouTube logo.
I think it is not exactly the same but it looks like that. ;-)
I was just wondering, if Google would do something against my website because of that. You know that Google owns YouTube.

If you created it yourself why dont you just change it?, or at least change the colours so they are not exactly like You Tubes.

 

I made it in Photoshop but the problem is I like red color. ;-)

 

yeh like linkedin has it in blue... there are more colors to choose from

 

Complete copy of their "trademarked" logo if you ask me. Why not be unique and follow around other ideas like a sheep? Get it... unique... sheep... it rhymes? Oh nevermind, no one has "orignality" anymore.

 

I am a person who like unique but I thought if my logo looks like YouTube, than people could remember my website better. What you think?

 

How about the color in blue. I changed the color. What do you think about that?

 

Remembering your site shouldn't be based on the logo, it should be based on the content it provides.

It looks like someone else's logo...AND YOU KNOW IT! You are actually depending on it.

Now, will an intelligent reader think..."Hmn..nice logo.." , or, "This guy is trying to do a bootleg association with another company...how cheap." ...?'

None of that will matter without traffic..a logo will not get you traffic.

I worked all day on Photoshop and finally I uploaded my old logo, what I made before. I think it is ok and I do not have to change my logo. Other side I do not want to have any trouble with Google and YouTube because of a Logo. ;-)

 

a logo which looks stupid, or tacky..would make me click off the website, a nice professional logo that fits the website nicely, makes me feel that the webmaster is trying hard
