    A few additions:
    - No plan survives contact with the enemy.
    - Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder (particularly apt for us Brits).
    - The most dangerous thing is the world is a Second Lieutenant with a map and a compass.
    - Incoming fire has right of way.
    - The easy way is always mined.
    - Military intelligence is a contradiction (anyone who's had experience of the British Int Corps (eg. 'the green slime') will know this only too well).
