a resume is needed in jobhunting right? what constitutes a good resume? did your resume land you a good job or interview?
No, because before I became a writer I worked in scummy retail positions that didn't really give my resume a gigantic boost! Now however, a resume becomes quite handy in my current line of work. As far as what constitutes a good resume, it should highlight your main skills and present your best work attributes to a prospective employer. Short and to the point, no fluffy verbage.
looking for jobs just implies that you cannot support yourself and must rely on others to survive. Instead of job hunting, find a way to get actively involeved in the business world, to save yourself and take orders from you and you alone. Listening to someone else who is your boss is mundane and weak. I've worked in the corporate world, and I can tell you barely surviving on your own is still better than a six figure salary that involves 50 hours of slave work a week. look in yourself and the web, you don't need anyone else to keep on going. Relying on others leads to a lifetime of dependancy
Thank you both, RT and IAmNed. Moneyspeaks, your points are interesting but I must interject. If you're raising a family or not making enough money to put food into your belly and clothes on your back, you do what you have to do. Barely surviving when you have people to care for just doesn't cut it. Sometimes, you do need to rely on others before you can manage your own worktime and salary.
i agree with you DeniseJ. working is as much a part of life as anything else. and working for a boss, doesn't make you a slave to work. not if you're enjoying your job. and btw, I agree that you're a good writer too.
Much thanks, Webangel. If you're enjoying your work, I don't see why it would matter if you're working for somebody else. Regardless of whether or not you want to work for yourself someday, it takes time to climb the career ladder, so to speak, to get you to the point where you can safely quit your day job and devote yourself full-time to your own career pursuits.
