I have been an Amazon Affiliate for years and just noticed a section in the Orders Report area, that I had not seen before. This section will tell you what links visitors are using to get to Amazon. Since others, like me, may not have noticed this useful section before, here is how to find it Log into your associates account, go to the Report Section and click on the Orders link. Just below the section of the report where any actual orders are listed is a section that reads: Items with no orders Show all items Click on the toggle next to the words "show all items," and a list of all the items people clicked on, but did not purchase will appear. This will give you a good idea of what web pages and items are drawing actual clicks. For example, a book I reviewed on a blog, a couple of months ago, got 17 clicks so far this month, but no sales. Which tells me that this post is still drawing interest (I just wish my readers had some extra money this month.) Finding out all the items readers are clicking on to get to Amazon can be very useful in determining what to review or what sites are working.
That triangle button can be easy to miss If you click the button "download report (TSV)" in your Earnings Report and then load that into a spreadsheet program it will show you your tracking ID's per item etc. if you use tracking ID's
Thanks. This are indeed hidden tips. I didn't even know that triangle can be clicked. Amazon should change that to a text link.
Yep, you can learn a lot from the Reports section. What type of links people are clicking on, if they are clicking on Omkase, widgets, or direct links, etc. A mini-version of Analytics to some extent.
Try dropping an exported report into Google Docs Spreadsheet program. Great for people who like to do number crunching on their data. thnx, PuReWebDev
