Used htaccess for 301 - do I now delete index.html?

    Quick question about 301 redirects...

I have used an htaccess file to redirect all visitors to domain A on to domain B. Should I now delete the index.html home page at domain A so the only thing left is the htaccess file? I was wondering whether the bots will still see it and keep domain A indexed...

once all visitors are redirected you should have no need for the index file

yep the htaccess "kicks in" before index.html comes into the picture. so yes, u can delete index.html/php.
