I am looking to buy a already high PR domain name. I know there are seveal tricks and scams out there to make PR apper to be something its not. Im affraid of buying a high PR domain and having it transfered to me and then 2 weeks later have the PR drop to 0. What I don't know is the best way to research out a domain to reduce the odds of this happening.

I know that PR isnt everything, but I am going to be using the domain name primarily to sell links according to PR so real traffic isnt an issue. What is most important to me to maintain that PR at the same level.

Ive looked around on the forums and this is what I already know I should do before buying the domain.

-Check the PR on http://www.smartpagerank.com/ to verify PR
-Compair the age to a comparable PR ranked google site
-Compair the backlinks to a comparable PR ranked google site

And then after I have control of the domain I Should

-Check the content on wayback machine and post similar content.
-Start a paid link campain to maintain back links

Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions on how to either
-better research out the domain name before I buy it?
    or
-Maintain that same PR after I buy it.

    Thanks

Try reciprocal linking with sites having the same PR.
