Hello, I have a wordpress blog and I want to use it as the home page for a current website. The problem is that the current website's index page is index.htm and the wordpress blog's index page of course is index.php. I don't want to have the home page as index.php because I have a great deal of search engine ranking with the index.htm. Does anyone know a way to get around this so that if someone browses to http://www.mydomain.com they will be pointed to the wordpress blog, yet the index page will be index.htm?
If you want, you can install WP on subfolder of your host, i.e named it "Blog" (www.yourdomain.com/blog"). By the way, all post made on your WP can be .html with change the Permalink Setting to /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%.html
Read this scroll down to end of the page "Having your posts end in .html" h**p://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks or you could use a static homepage too h**p://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
