I've been using Honey for a while and have found it to be great. It is updated pretty regularly with new deals and does check many of the major online retailers for ongoing sales.

 

Used it on godaddy several days ago. I forget the exact price, but got the domain for just under $2.00. It takes a little while since it checks all the discount codes before determining which one is the lowest/best value.

 

It usually checks about 20 codes and most of the times you get the domain for $0.99 +0.18(icann fee) = $1.17

Honey works.I use it for a long time.The only thing is you have to pay with your credit card when applying discount codes on godaddy.You can't use PayPal or your in-store credit.
Deffently helpful for domainers

 

Looks like they are currently updating it or fixing something so I'm not able to install it at the moment.

 

I just tried installing and it seems fine. Maybe it was a temporary bug?
