Can anyone say if using <span title='keyword'> for link text has any effect on keyword density etc, or more specifically if it is known to help in the serps?

    You'd be better off using <A HREF="..." TITLE="keyword">.

I used to think it helps in SERPS, but now I'm not so sure. Can't see how it word hurt though.

The title attribute has no effect ranking, according to my limited testing.

I think it would be too easy to spam - whichever method suggested in this thread used. So no: not likely to help.
