    1. What Google likes most: <span> or <H4>, <H5> for sidebar news and similar articles on the page?
    2. How you prefere to mark additional page content, like Add Comment zone, similar articles etc.?
    Interested in the answers based on personal Seo experience

    For ex.: in Yandex we mark all page content in <span>, except article headings. This scheme has proved to be the best one for ranking.

    What is better for Google?

    Basically, you put whatever you think is important in H tags. I use all the way up to H6 in some of my articles, so I tend not to use them in the sidebar.
    A lot of WordPress themes do have H tags in the sidebar, though. Google will consider the H tags as important topics, so you want to have keywords in those tags usually.
