Should I use my real name when writing an ebook? Its going to be good, I'm not scamming people or anything, I'm just wondering if its not a good idea to include my name in it, which they might see anyways through paypal or something.
You could use a pen name if you want to separate your identity from that of your ebook. You might also use a pen name if it sounds more authoritative and credible than your real name. I've sold some information under a pen name because I didn't want name association to cost sales. You can keep Paypal from giving you away by adding another email address to your paypal account. Make sure your buttons use the new email address. Of course, by the time the reader clicks on the "Buy Now," they're already sold on your book. So finding out your real name at that point probably won't break the sale.
Why wouldn't you use your own name? Building your own brand is the way to go. I use a pen name for all my articles I write online as my website competes in a small way with the company I work for. As a result its best they don't know that I am the one creating and building a site that competes with them in a minor way.
For me, yes you should. Using your real name will increase your reputation in an online world. Just look at other top Internet marketer, all of them are using their own real name.
I use my own name. If you're writing something about "black hat" techniques or simply want to convey that your information is "sneaky" or "insider secrets" then you might want to use a pseudonym as a marketing gimmick. I just use my own name. Charlie
You can use mine if you don't like your one. ... use you own name because if you write more then one then it will get your popularity and trust.
Yes you can do that. And its welcome to do so. And there are many advantage of it such as the buyer can match the name at your payment gateway with the ebook writer which is you. And if something happen such as the ebook buyer sell your book to the third person, then the third person can straightly know that the ebook is not created by the second person. And its always wise to put your contact number below your name such as msn/mobile phone number.
"You" can still get recognition for the work, you're just recognized under a different name. Some people don't want to be recognized for their work. For example, you might come from a strong religous background but use a pen name when you release your adult-related ebook to keep people from knowing the real you.
Of course you should use your real name and try to brand it. However if you want you can also use a pen name. Try to make people to remember you as the XYZ expert so that when they read/hear somewhere from "Andy" they relate it to as ex. "The Super Affiliate Expert" or anything else you want. For example Joel Comm = The Adsense Expert, Michael Schumacher = F1 driver etc. However you dont have to be the best on XYZ. The point is when someone buys your ebook and is happy with the information you provided to relate you as "the guy that knows XYZ". When you write your second book people will trust your and be happy to buy from you again or buy your recommendations.
As long as there is not a conflict of interest with another company/ business, or a compliance issue if it is focused on the finance/ insurance industries, I would use your real name. If you have a non-compete and/or non-disclosure agreement with a company and that is prompting your question, then using a pen name will probably not stand up in court since this would still be a violation of the agreement.
Your name should be used as a brand if you want to become known in your niche. There isnt much difference if you se your real name of not, just be consistant once you do decide.
I think if it a good product and you aren't trying to scam people, then it would be a great idea to use your real name. More pages in Google!!
I would use my first name only. But that is because I want to stay anonymous on the internet. Dunno why though.
