    Hello To Everyone,
I have one question, some webowners are optimizing their site with www or some without www but I don't know what actually the benifits of using www in the site.
Simple I want to know the difference between the site with www or without www.

    eg.

    http://www.yourdomain.com
    http://yourdoamin.com

    Thanks
    Om

Generally it doesn't make any difference you visit the site with or without www google prefers both make sure your site make sure their sites respond to both, but don't keep both just red
    irect to one another.

To me not www url looks tidy. But search engines are comfortable with both the urls. Also to add to above post, redirect was required few years ago when the search engine algorithms weren't advance enough but now they can know that these are not 2 different websites.

There is no problem if your site is without www.

It doesn't matter really which one you would use for your website. But to be safe with any underlying penalty, be sure to redirect one way or the other. This means if you choose to use the www version, redirect the non-www to it. If you choose the non-www, redirect the www version to it.

It could be a canonical issue.

I think there is no problem of using www or without www but always use one domain name either by www or without it in the whole SEO Process.

Google sees it as two different URLs www and without www you'll get penalty for serving two identical contents. Also for SEO building has a huge factor if you are building PR to the site this has happened to me my site www(.)sample(.)com has PR3 but the sample(.)com without www has PR0. Better if you can redirect the non www url to the www so everything just goes to one site
