Hi All, I have been told that Google de-values content that is very similar to other sites. E.G. As i sell cosmetics, i have used some descrptions directly from the Brand Owner? Do i need to write my own as this might cause me some issues? Thanks
Yes you should use unique text, but this isn't the right forum to discuss that. Try the google section.
This probably isn't the right part of the forum for these questions (Buy, Sell or Trade). I think by adding a link somewhere on your page to the page where the content came from is a signal for Google that you acknowledge it is being 'borrowed', though I could be wrong. Duplicate content is never good, however unique content is king! It might be worth having them re-written just to be safe!
You are correct-- make your content more unique and you should see some better results. As I'm sure you know, it's all about the keywords anyway!
Yes......you have to write unique contant for that. You can simply rewrite the content and then use that........
