Use of iFrames?

    I have a static page on one of my forums (actually a portal with SMF platform), and I'm thinking of setting up a wordpress blog and putting it on this page as an iFrame.
    Do you recommend doing it this way? I want to retain the forum tools and links in the left column, hence the reason for this.
