Someone told me that you can receive money from customers online with Google Checkout just as you can with paypal.

is this true? Because i signed up for a google checkout account and it only seems to allow me to pay for stuff with it instead of giving out my credit card info and such.

Is there a way to actually do this?

Yes US users are fortunate to integrate google checkout with their web sites and accept payments. Please register there as a vendor.

Yes It is true but as of now it is applicable for US residents only, the exact URL you have to go is http://checkout.google.com/sell there you can create the account the amount collected from the buyer will be sent to an US account only so only US residents can register for this service with Google Checkout.

Sign up, enter banking information, then put a Buy Now button on your website.
You cannot store money in your GC account. GC holds any payments received for 2 days then automatically transfers the amount to your bank account. It can take 5-7 days from sale to bank account.

they are not free,it still has sales percentage for sending the money to you and I think per sale they also cut a percentage 2-2.2% if I am not mistaken

Be careful with Google checkout and Paypal. If you start having a lot of purchases through your site, they can freeze your account without notice and it takes forever to get your money back. I would look into a merchant account as a backup. At least you will have control over your money.
