Use facebook page for main website, good idea?

I have been toying around with the idea to just use facebook in stead of a self hosted wordpress site. Reason being I am having a hell of a time getting traffic and fans.

And I got the idea from epic meal time on youtube, they use their youtube channel as their site.

Point my domain to the facebook page and there it is.

Is this a good idea?

i dont think so thats a good idea.

 

Not a good idea. as you wont get any page rank and you can put in your ads,or sell adspace etc

I am jumping on the bandwagon on this one.... very bad idea. You need to have your own site, but you can use facebook as a link to it.

 

Not a good idea - FB is notorius for shutting folks down for no reason. Also, you need to grow your own list so you can email them all at once. FB only lets you email a few at a time.

 

Many people do use social network presence as the only presence on the web but I concur with everyone above. You would have limitations in terms of page width, implementation of widgets, rss, no page rank or a good way of advertisement.
