I like to use as many different link building strategies as possible. I was thinking about writing ebooks with links back to my sites to get more traffic. i know they wont help me in the serps, but they can get me some direct traffic. I know it has been done before and judging from the amount of free ebooks out there, it must work. i was trying to figure out how to distribute it. i know that i can give them away for free on my sites, and through email lists, but i am not looking to use them for repeat traffic, i would like to use them for new traffic. have any of you ever tried doing this? does it work and is it worth the effort? Any ideas on how to distribute it? thanks in advance
I am confident that my ebook will be pretty damn good, my only issue is with distribution. any ideas on how to get people to read my ebook?
I have a vision on my mind that you were talking about newsletter? Correct me if I'm wrong.. I was thinking that if you are about to send an mail to different various of site without the subscribe and unsubscribe button.. there is a possibility that it will be considered as spamming..
no spamming for me. legitimate ebooks in pdf form. i want to write a really good ebook on a topic and out links in it to my websites. then distribute it legitimately and get targeted traffic. The problem is that i cant figure out how to distribute it in a legitimate way. i dont wanna use my sites because i want to try to get new traffic. not bring old traffic back, i already have that under control.
Try to get a few bloggers to give it away, if it is good enough then many webmasters in a related field will be up for it.
submit it to download sites in .exe format also to document sharing websites in .pdf format just google document sharing websites, you can share it to forums, try to share it to as much forums as you can. hope it helps
If it is truly pretty-damn-good (meaning, when I read that, I read value) why not throw up a clickbank for it and let the affiliates who are used to promoting your type of product give a go? It will cost a little, but it's worth it because you will get first-hand data as to what works the best for your book, and fast if you get people on it. For example, since I suggested it, you could always let us know it is launched here, suddenly many affiliates will see it and have the opportunity to shop at selling it for you. You may take that data and use it to set up your own campaigns or just let it continue to "sell itself".
I havent tried it, but I think that if you make free ebooks and put them up on your website, then it will work great as link bait. Idk about the traffic from links in the ebook, but I guess it should work
