Here's a cool trick. You can get a new website indexed fast by placing your adsense code on it. The adsense bot shares the same cache as the google bot and you wouldn't need any backlinks.
nope not true, one bot isnt related to the others in any way. I have 15 directores all with adsense that between them get about 5,000 hits per day to hundreds and hundreds of subcategories that while having adsense integrated, are not google indexed. And they are all two and a bit months old now, so its not a timing issue. Also, some of the directories have 3,000 pages indexed, and some have 300, depending on domain age/backlinks mainly (all of them have the same theme, so its not related to that anymore).
I just tried it and it works to get your site indexed super fast. However you still need backlinks to get enough pr to have 300 pages indexed. Here is a link from DP's own SHOEMONEYtalking about how Matt Cutts speaking at a PubCon lunch confirmed that the AdSense bot is doing double duty by also indexing for the regular Google search database to save bandwidth. http://www.shoemoney.com/2006/04/18/matt-cutts-confirms-media-bot-crawling-for-big-daddy/ Here's a link from Matt Cutts where he discusses it himself http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/crawl-caching-proxy/
Another way to get a page indexed fast is with social bookmarking. Have something get digged; it can show up in a few hours.
