    Two ads max is your best bet.

    I've had 3 ads on one site for ages and just daren't try it with any less (they all earn money), one of these days I'll take the gamble and have a go *maybe*

    do it, just do it :)
    at midnight switch to 1 ad per page on your site and run it that way for 24 hours... worst will happen is you loose half your days earnings give or take, which is only 1/60th your monthly earnings... so no biggie! :D

    I have found that with three ads not only did my CTR drop but so did my earnings. With one ad block in a good location both my CTR and earnings per day went up. I have tried this on several occassions and continue to have the same results.

    You could also try using 2 or 3 smaller ad units like 125X125, 234X60, 180X150, spread out in strategic locations on your site.

    I've experienced increased revenues by adding a link unit on the opposite side of the page to the skyscraper ad unit - without affecting CTR on the ad unit.

    For now I'll just go with the KISS psychology, it's taken me a year to get this far :)

    I found that I got more income and higher ctr when I use only one ad block per page. Not to say it's a hard and fast rule, just one I found works for me.

    Works for me too, but only in my homepage, I don´t know why, in the other pages of my website I have 2 blocks per page.

    Thanks for all the info, from what I've been hearing its better to have 1, maybe two at the most. I have two fairly new sites. One has three ads and the other has 1 adsense ad.

    Site with 1 Adsense
    clicks
    Impressions = 26
    clicks = 4
    CTR =15.4%
    eCPM = $68.61
    Earning per day = $1.78

    Site with 3 Adsense
    Impressions = 52
    Clicks = 2
    CTR= 3.8
    eCPM = 1.78
    Earning per day = .09 (Less than 5 cents per click!)

    The ad with three ADs only got 9 cents per day with two clicks, where as the site with one add 4 clicks got 1.78.
    I know keyword costs play a role too.

    I remove 1 ad unit in my site for 24 hours... the ctr decrease but the the earning seems higher than when I use 3 ads per site.

    Davey Crocket you should edit you post and read Google's TOS, you are not allowed to publish statistics like CTR
