If you didn't change anything in the bios, and you didn't unplug any cables connecting USB ports to motherboard header pins, it's just a case of installing the correct drivers.

Find the motherboard model and install the drivers for it. It's likely that other drivers are missing if this is the case, so install all the relevant drivers for your hardware.

Drivermax is a very good tool for this.

Simple solution, that blackpoint told you, just reinstall the window, because in many Asian countries there is no availability of perfect copyrighted windows, all are pirated, however it is bad, but they do.

check that drivers are working fine in Device manager... if it doesn't, shows in yellow icon your USB router.. try to install drivers using your motherboard CD..

Hi first u should check the BIOS USB settings . If it starts working then cool otherwise go for driver installation . It depends on which OS u r using . And if any of these wont work then still u can go for windows(if ur OS is windows XP) repair rather reinstalling the windows.

You have to install driver for your motherboard or your notebook, so your usb port will be recognized. The problem now your mother board haven't recognized by the OS yet.

Update: That tech only work on windows xp. no experience in vista nor seven yet. sorry.

First of all, check whether drivers are functionating correctly or not. Go to My computer > Properties > Device Manager

And there you can see whether usb is working or not?
