How old is your USB memory stick (thumb drive), before it fails you?
Mine was a Toshiba, bought in 2005, 3 years now and still functioning. I am kinda worried when it will fail.

I've got an ANCIENT 256MB usb drive that is still working perfectly.

I'm not sure how old it is, but it cost me $199 back in the day  which will give you an indication of how long ago I bought it. I'd say sometime around 2001.

I don't use it very much anymore - I use my 2GB Toshi instead (running Portable Apps :)), and make a backup of my stick to my external HDD about once a week.

Were you really buying an authentic thumb drive? Failure to work for more than 3-4 times does sound quite terrible. What did you do to the USB drive? :D hee.. hee..
