Hello I was thinking using 468 x 15 ads in the middle of my guides-
blend the background and border with my background and make the links looks like the links on my site, would that be against the rules ?

It's fine as long as you are not trying to fool your visitors into thinking that the ads are really part of your guide/post (content). So, don't put misleading headings above them, and don't lay out your own links in exactly the same way to confuse people. Choosing matching fonts and colours, however, is fine, and is a normal part of good ad integration. See the Google AdSense Help pages (such as this one) for more details.

    that is perfectly fine.
as long as you can tell the difference, then that's all good.

    Okay thanks for your answers

So my links are a little lighter blue than normal and bold and underlined.

If I use this 468x15_4 and blend the background with my background and just turn the links the same color as my links there should not be any problem ? since the links aint bold and the Ads by google is still black and bold..

the normal text of my site is also black but not bold.

This was a bit more precise question

You are allowed to choose exactly the same font face, font colour, font weight (boldness), font decoration (underlined), etc., for your website text / links and the AdSense text / links. This is what I try to do on all of my sites. This is simply considered normal "blending", such that the ads fit in well with the design of your site.

What you are not allowed to do is trick the visitor into thinking that the ad links are content links, i.e. links to other pages on your site. Nor are you allowed to "recommend" the websites in the ads by putting "My Favourite Sites" or something like that as a heading associated with the ad block.

So, blend the ads into your design as good as you can, but be careful to never make it difficult to tell what is an ad and what is normal content of your site. The ads should be identifiable as ads. Your visitor must not be confused!
