For me its primarily a religeous thing. After coming to that decision, my views changed to pro-choice. Obviously, thats where we diverge in thought. The arguments -big brain- for each side are extremely compelling but neither is able to sway my opinion.

    I can sleep at night.

Even murderers have parents. The lengthy legal limbo and execution of their child must be as traumatic to them, as parents, as to the parent of the original victim. Many murderers also have children..... same thing.....

Their families pain will live on for the rest of their lives. Long after their murderer relative is dead. How do you tell a child that its father will be killed by the authorities? That is punishing a family for the crimes of the individual. The kind of thing you associate with evil dictatorships rather than a modern day democracy.

Capital punishment is barbaric - and has thankfully been banned in most developed countries. In my view, this is a measure of a societies level of civilisation.

And the ironic thing is that certain countries who still kill their citizens hypocritically criticise other countries for their human rights records........

That wouldn't be much of an issue if the right poison is used. We could also put a deadly virus into the pill.

Hmm dunno about a virus. That'd be too dangerous for people present too - Could be contagious and pose high risks.

Very true gtech. If we can allow the Government to kill potential humans who havnt lived but not kill the evil vermin in society that have lived then we have a problem.
