Are .us DNs strong or weak? Are the growing strong, or done?

What I would like to see are what other TLD extensions are better/worse than .us?

    Thanks

They are not great for investing/speculating but there is no reason not to use & develop them for a US based website.

There are restrictions related to ownership of .us domains. These domains have not so big potential for investment, but they may be used for U.S. related sites.

They used not to be strong and will not strong in the future,I think.People still like to use .com instead.

    Yes I agree.

Although I have seen some .us domain name sold for a hefty amount. They can be good for building us sites, I have also seen some big companies who have a .us website for a different purpose with the .com domain website. I can't recall any yet. But I think .com will always be strong, has been strong and going strong. .com is basically used worldwide. A lot of other countries that have huge websites use .com .

When the supply is great the value and demand will be low, but once they start running out of .us just watch their value skyrocket.

Thanks for the input everyone. Ya, I'm looking into some potential dn's for a business i am planning out. So, the big question right now is which TLD route to towards. Now, U.S. would be 'good' because my business will be a non-profit.

As well, I noticed that some businesses go down the route in which they buy dns specific to countries (.co.uk/.au/etc.)

Thanks again everyone, this was great input for a future decision.

I will never buy a domain if it's not a .com

I agree with everyone above. Just stick with 'coms; they're a lot more versatile and everyone tries them by default.

.US domains are great for domain hacks, (find.us), I'm also pretty sure that you could do some SEO work and have the same page rank if you had an .com domain. It's simple, work hard, get results, the domain doesn't matter.
